Childhood disorders, popularly known as developmental disorders or learning disorders, most often occur and are diagnosed when the child is of school-age. Although some adults may also relate to some of the symptoms of these disorders, typically the disorder’s symptoms need to have first appeared at some point in the person’s childhood.

Therapies for Devlopmental Disorders

Therapies such as socialization exercises and behavioral therapy may be used to reinforce and support positive behavior. In addition, therapies such as speech, physical therapy or occupational therapy, can dramatically improve a child’s verbal, cognitive and social abilities and motor skills. In addition to therapy and counseling, medications intended to help normalize brain activity may be used to treat some developmental disorders, such as ADHD.

Adjustment Disorder
